Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which rose 3.08% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.85 at the close. Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr) added 2.38% or 0.11 points to end at 4.74 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 2.35% or 0.09 points to 3.92 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Public Power (AT:DEHr), which lost 1.99% or 0.24 points to trade at 11.84 in late trade. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) declined 1.96% or 0.52 points to end at 26.06 and Alumil (AT:ALMr) shed 1.55% or 0.07 points to 4.13.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 57 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.43% or 38.96 to $2,757.36 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.12% or 0.77 to hit $69.36 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.58 to trade at $72.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 106.40.
