Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Banking and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.36% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 6.87% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.34 at the close. Alumil (AT:ALMr) added 6.47% or 0.28 points to end at 4.53 and Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) was up 3.51% or 0.07 points to 1.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which lost 2.10% or 0.30 points to trade at 14.00 in late trade. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) unchanged 1.17% or 0.00 points to end at 0.34 and Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) shed 1.00% or 0.34 points to 33.64.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 40 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.11% or 30.01 to $2,679.39 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.11% or 0.78 to hit $70.80 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.65 to trade at $74.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP rose 0.67% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 106.74.
