Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Transportation & Logistics and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Software and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.47%, while the MDAX index gained 0.38%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 4.39% or 0.96 points to trade at 22.85 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 3.34% or 0.50 points to end at 15.41 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 2.96% or 0.42 points to 14.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which lost 3.33% or 7.30 points to trade at 211.70 in late trade. SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) declined 2.03% or 3.84 points to end at 185.68 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) shed 1.89% or 0.73 points to 37.82.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 6.42% to 4.81, Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was up 5.87% to settle at 77.55 and Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which gained 3.09% to close at 32.02.
The worst performers were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 5.92% to 41.34 in late trade, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which lost 2.63% to settle at 111.00 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 2.05% to 17.96 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 2.91% to 10.78, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 2.50% to settle at 35.20 and Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which gained 2.44% to close at 63.00.
The worst performers were Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 5.92% to 41.34 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 3.33% to settle at 211.70 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 3.29% to 73.60 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 349 to 284 and 24 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.60% to 15.79.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.04% or 1.00 to $2,338.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.75% or 1.43 to hit $82.97 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 1.39 to trade at $86.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 105.60.
