Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Software, Financial Services and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.08%, while the MDAX index gained 0.34%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG), which rose 6.04% or 0.690 points to trade at 12.115 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 2.99% or 0.425 points to end at 14.660 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was up 2.32% or 3.30 points to 145.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which lost 2.07% or 1.910 points to trade at 90.300 in late trade. BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) declined 0.98% or 0.890 points to end at 90.110 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (DE:BEIG) shed 0.98% or 0.900 points to 91.100.
The top performers on the MDAX were Covestro AG (DE:1COV) which rose 8.15% to 78.000, Airbus Group SE (F:AIRG) which was up 2.76% to settle at 83.390 and Axel Springer SE (DE:SPRGn) which gained 1.58% to close at 58.490.
The worst performers were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which was down 6.09% to 46.910 in late trade, Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which lost 3.04% to settle at 55.090 and Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was down 2.35% to 65.70 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Medigene NA O.N. (DE:MDG1k) which rose 2.98% to 13.140, Dialog Semiconductor (DE:DLGS) which was up 2.93% to settle at 39.550 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 2.68% to close at 11.290.
The worst performers were GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which was down 12.42% to 13.575 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which lost 3.54% to settle at 75.430 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 3.20% to 62.980 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 394 to 353 and 41 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.25% to 12.54.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.28% or 3.55 to $1277.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.04% or 0.54 to hit $52.44 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.48% or 0.85 to trade at $58.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1763, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.8969.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 93.81.
