Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Basic Resources and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Retail and Media sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.06%, while the MDAX index added 0.08%, and the TecDAX index lost 1.00%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which rose 8.73% or 1.935 points to trade at 24.105 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 2.30% or 0.252 points to end at 11.188 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) was up 1.59% or 0.145 points to 9.236 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (DE:FREG), which lost 4.29% or 2.960 points to trade at 66.020 in late trade. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) declined 2.16% or 1.840 points to end at 83.540 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG_p) shed 0.92% or 1.00 points to 107.25.

The top performers on the MDAX were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which rose 8.03% to 48.310, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was up 2.30% to settle at 124.55 and Norma Group AG NA O.N. (DE:NOEJ) which gained 2.26% to close at 54.200.

The worst performers were Rocket Internet (DE:RKET) which was down 2.94% to 29.72 in late trade, Axel Springer SE (DE:SPRGn) which lost 2.37% to settle at 63.900 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was down 1.34% to 48.58 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which rose 4.21% to 36.120, Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was up 2.12% to settle at 149.150 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which gained 0.79% to close at 140.40.

The worst performers were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which was down 7.77% to 19.000 in late trade, SLM Solutions Group AG (DE:AM3D) which lost 5.00% to settle at 24.70 and Xing AG (DE:OBCGn) which was down 3.97% to 278.50 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 398 to 306 and 75 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.13% to 15.07.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.21% or 2.60 to $1223.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.45% or 1.02 to hit $69.11 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.87% or 0.66 to trade at $74.89 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.1704, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8914.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 94.27.
