Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Retail and Software sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.31%, while the MDAX index declined 0.27%, and the TecDAX index added 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn), which rose 1.92% or 1.12 points to trade at 59.42 at the close. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) added 0.73% or 0.36 points to end at 49.70 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) was up 0.50% or 0.19 points to 38.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which lost 4.52% or 2.76 points to trade at 58.34 in late trade. Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) declined 3.03% or 0.61 points to end at 19.54 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:MBGn) shed 1.85% or 0.98 points to 51.89.
The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 3.34% to 11.76, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 2.71% to settle at 37.19 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 2.21% to close at 3.88.
The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 3.08% to 20.76 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 2.27% to settle at 46.42 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 2.25% to 32.20 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which rose 3.34% to 11.76, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 2.96% to settle at 9.90 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 1.72% to close at 11.86.
The worst performers were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which was down 3.97% to 94.40 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 3.08% to settle at 20.76 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was down 2.80% to 17.00 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 352 to 263 and 36 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.83% to 17.59.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.95% or 25.00 to $2,656.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $69.27 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $73.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 106.78.
