Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Financial Services and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Technology and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.27%, while the MDAX index added 0.55%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 2.19% or 0.63 points to trade at 29.43 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:VOWG_p) added 1.69% or 1.48 points to end at 88.80 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 1.40% or 0.70 points to 50.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which lost 2.09% or 0.32 points to trade at 15.24 in late trade. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) declined 2.04% or 0.34 points to end at 16.25 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) shed 1.59% or 8.00 points to 494.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which rose 5.90% to 58.30, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was up 3.66% to settle at 2.89 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 3.37% to close at 28.50.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 7.27% to 67.65 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 2.53% to settle at 9.23 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.50% to 45.28 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which rose 1.49% to 68.30, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was up 1.49% to settle at 47.80 and Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which gained 1.47% to close at 82.60.
The worst performers were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was down 3.70% to 109.20 in late trade, TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which lost 2.53% to settle at 9.23 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.50% to 45.28 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 390 to 265 and 33 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 22.08% to 16.48.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.38% or 36.01 to $2,644.11 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.80% or 1.27 to hit $69.31 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.15% or 0.11 to trade at $72.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 107.44.
