Investing.com – Germany equities were mixed at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Software and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Construction, Transportation & Logistics and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.20%, while the MDAX index fell 0.13%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 2.27% or 0.68 points to trade at 30.35 at the close. SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) added 1.58% or 3.40 points to end at 218.65 and E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) was up 1.13% or 0.15 points to 12.93 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which lost 2.64% or 0.78 points to trade at 28.73 in late trade. Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) declined 1.98% or 3.20 points to end at 158.70 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) shed 1.98% or 4.30 points to 212.80.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 4.58% to 40.89, Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) which was up 2.57% to settle at 7.73 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 1.49% to close at 13.58.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.43% to 30.98 in late trade, Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which lost 2.49% to settle at 35.30 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 2.23% to 41.64 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 8.92% to 6.47, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was up 3.79% to settle at 52.00 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 2.27% to close at 30.35.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 3.43% to 30.98 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which lost 1.88% to settle at 43.90 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 1.59% to 58.80 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 420 to 200 and 31 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.81% to 17.24.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.94% or 25.90 to $2,733.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.69% or 1.21 to hit $70.53 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.66% or 1.26 to trade at $74.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 104.30.
