Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Construction and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.68%, while the MDAX index lost 1.24%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG), which rose 1.88% or 0.63 points to trade at 34.23 at the close. Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) added 1.86% or 1.02 points to end at 55.94 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) was up 1.42% or 1.18 points to 84.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which lost 4.31% or 3.22 points to trade at 71.50 in late trade. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 3.78% or 1.24 points to end at 31.46 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) shed 2.86% or 1.21 points to 41.08.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 2.15% to 29.46, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 1.31% to settle at 36.22 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which gained 1.22% to close at 3.47.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 18.03% to 80.00 in late trade, Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which lost 5.16% to settle at 29.40 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 4.71% to 129.60 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 3.31% to 68.70, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 2.23% to settle at 6.43 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 2.15% to close at 29.46.
The worst performers were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 3.78% to 31.46 in late trade, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which lost 3.64% to settle at 66.10 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 3.01% to 18.05 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 410 to 227 and 35 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 1.47% to 14.95.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.42% or 11.30 to $2,656.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.09% or 0.74 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.06% or 0.76 to trade at $72.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 100.35.
