Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.67%, while the MDAX index fell 0.26%, and the TecDAX index fell 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 3.85% or 22.40 points to trade at 604.80 at the close. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) added 0.97% or 1.00 points to end at 104.50 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 0.90% or 0.26 points to 29.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn), which lost 3.35% or 6.16 points to trade at 177.84 in late trade. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 2.15% or 0.64 points to end at 29.10 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) shed 2.08% or 1.30 points to 61.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which rose 11.65% to 3.80, SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR:1SXP) which was up 4.14% to settle at 26.68 and Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which gained 3.15% to close at 216.20.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 5.57% to 47.50 in late trade, Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which lost 4.93% to settle at 32.80 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 4.49% to 13.18 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which rose 2.18% to 98.30, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was up 1.39% to settle at 17.49 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 1.31% to close at 35.54.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 8.38% to 9.62 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 5.57% to settle at 47.50 and SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 4.82% to 48.35 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 428 to 197 and 26 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.01% to 16.46.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 17.20 to $2,631.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $69.08 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.14 to trade at $73.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 106.16.
