Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Construction and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.65%, while the MDAX index declined 0.23%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which rose 5.06% or 24.60 points to trade at 511.00 at the close. Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) added 3.79% or 2.12 points to end at 58.06 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 2.66% or 0.88 points to 33.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p), which lost 2.89% or 2.44 points to trade at 81.96 in late trade. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 2.72% or 0.86 points to end at 30.60 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:DHLn) shed 2.22% or 0.89 points to 39.14.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 8.25% to 3.06, Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was up 4.01% to settle at 134.80 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 3.67% to close at 30.54.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 6.82% to 66.30 in late trade, Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:FPE3_p) which lost 3.30% to settle at 42.14 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.02% to 13.50 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which rose 3.67% to 30.54, United Internet AG NA (ETR:UTDI) which was up 1.95% to settle at 18.83 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:TMV) which gained 1.58% to close at 11.60.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 6.82% to 66.30 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 3.42% to settle at 6.20 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 3.02% to 13.50 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 369 to 269 and 28 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 10.37% to 16.50.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.01% or 26.85 to $2,686.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.15% or 2.83 to hit $71.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.81% or 2.73 to trade at $74.43 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.62% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 100.99.
