Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.36%, while the MDAX index fell 0.80%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p), which rose 1.75% or 1.36 points to trade at 79.26 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) added 1.18% or 0.15 points to end at 12.39 and Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) was up 0.84% or 0.20 points to 24.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which lost 3.50% or 0.89 points to trade at 24.52 in late trade. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) declined 3.01% or 16.60 points to end at 534.60 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) shed 2.80% or 0.82 points to 28.27.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 1.83% to 7.34, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was up 1.66% to settle at 97.90 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which gained 0.69% to close at 14.52.
The worst performers were K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which was down 4.05% to 10.53 in late trade, Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which lost 3.80% to settle at 41.80 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 3.13% to 18.24 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which rose 3.00% to 79.00, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 0.85% to settle at 142.60 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which gained 0.43% to close at 28.32.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 3.21% to 21.74 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 3.13% to settle at 18.24 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which was down 2.71% to 16.54 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 405 to 207 and 26 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.93% to 13.98.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.07% or 1.90 to $2,543.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.48% or 0.35 to hit $73.31 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.49% or 0.38 to trade at $77.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 101.40.
