Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Media and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.30%, while the MDAX index fell 0.79%, and the TecDAX index declined 1.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 18.95% or 7.38 points to trade at 46.33 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) added 6.14% or 1.85 points to end at 31.97 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was up 2.27% or 1.28 points to 57.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p), which lost 6.17% or 2.26 points to trade at 34.39 in late trade. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) declined 4.70% or 1.45 points to end at 29.40 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) shed 3.52% or 0.74 points to 20.15.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 8.22% to 11.65, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was up 2.94% to settle at 38.91 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which gained 1.85% to close at 39.74.
The worst performers were RTL Group SA (ETR:RRTL) which was down 14.06% to 24.15 in late trade, Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which lost 4.72% to settle at 35.30 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 4.67% to 20.82 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 5.55% to 8.56, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was up 4.64% to settle at 23.90 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 2.17% to close at 39.58.
The worst performers were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was down 4.70% to 29.40 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which lost 4.67% to settle at 20.82 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 4.65% to 63.60 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 386 to 245 and 25 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 7.74% to 16.69.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.61% or 15.90 to $2,590.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.34% or 0.23 to hit $68.35 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.39% or 0.28 to trade at $72.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 106.35.
