Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction, Chemicals and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.17%, while the MDAX index declined 0.49%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG), which rose 2.35% or 4.70 points to trade at 205.00 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) added 1.50% or 0.19 points to end at 12.86 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) was up 1.39% or 3.40 points to 247.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which lost 4.00% or 2.84 points to trade at 68.20 in late trade. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:BASFN) declined 3.60% or 1.74 points to end at 46.58 and Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn) shed 2.28% or 4.20 points to 180.18.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 4.08% to 39.05, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was up 2.01% to settle at 294.00 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which gained 1.91% to close at 95.85.
The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was down 5.00% to 9.23 in late trade, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which lost 4.22% to settle at 25.40 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which was down 3.90% to 35.24 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which rose 2.35% to 205.00, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was up 1.91% to settle at 95.85 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 1.88% to close at 41.28.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 3.74% to 65.70 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 3.56% to settle at 5.82 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 3.28% to 17.38 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 395 to 228 and 28 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.96% to 18.38.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.27% or 33.85 to $2,632.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.43% or 3.42 to hit $73.72 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.41% or 3.57 to trade at $77.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 102.31.
