Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Insurance and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.14%, while the MDAX index lost 0.40%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which rose 2.04% or 0.34 points to trade at 16.79 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) added 1.31% or 0.92 points to end at 71.04 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was up 1.20% or 0.19 points to 15.97 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn), which lost 2.69% or 12.90 points to trade at 467.00 in late trade. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) declined 2.65% or 13.80 points to end at 506.20 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn) shed 2.63% or 6.60 points to 244.10.
The top performers on the MDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 4.46% to 28.56, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 4.45% to settle at 9.72 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which gained 2.58% to close at 41.35.
The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 4.19% to 2.88 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which lost 2.79% to settle at 91.38 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 2.63% to 3.33 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 4.46% to 28.56, Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was up 4.15% to settle at 130.40 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which gained 3.04% to close at 17.97.
The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 3.15% to 40.52 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 2.18% to settle at 29.58 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 1.98% to 15.35 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 316 to 313 and 27 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.83% to 18.56.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.13% or 3.45 to $2,664.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.25% or 2.42 to hit $76.80 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.07% or 2.40 to trade at $80.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 102.23.
