Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Consumer & Cyclical and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.06%, while the MDAX index lost 0.44%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:HNRGn), which rose 5.23% or 11.30 points to trade at 227.40 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) added 1.70% or 0.54 points to end at 32.36 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was up 1.41% or 7.60 points to 546.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which lost 2.90% or 7.20 points to trade at 241.10 in late trade. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 1.32% or 0.39 points to end at 29.07 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) shed 1.11% or 1.40 points to 124.55.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 7.10% to 5.40, Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was up 3.42% to settle at 28.42 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 2.09% to close at 33.70.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 5.33% to 60.35 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which lost 3.50% to settle at 36.40 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 3.07% to 20.86 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which rose 3.42% to 28.42, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was up 1.46% to settle at 25.02 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which gained 1.34% to close at 42.42.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was down 5.33% to 60.35 in late trade, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which lost 2.90% to settle at 241.10 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 2.81% to 13.14 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 319 to 274 and 44 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.51% to 18.52.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.23% or 30.50 to $2,503.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.41% or 1.85 to hit $78.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.95% or 1.55 to trade at $81.21 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.00.
