Investing.com – Germany equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transportation & Logistics, Technology and Consumer & Cyclical sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.25%, while the MDAX index lost 0.14%, and the TecDAX index declined 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (XETRA:FMEG), which rose 2.40% or 1.510 points to trade at 64.510 at the close. E.ON SE NA (XETRA:EONGn) added 1.00% or 0.135 points to end at 13.575 and RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) was up 0.92% or 0.220 points to 24.035 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lanxess AG (XETRA:LXSG), which lost 2.15% or 0.990 points to trade at 45.100 in late trade. Adidas AG NA O.N. (XETRA:ADSGN) declined 2.15% or 1.400 points to end at 63.630 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) shed 1.67% or 0.385 points to 22.735.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gagfah SA Nom. (XETRA:GFJG) which rose 5.27% to 20.480, Sky Deutschland AG NA (XETRA:SKYDn) which was up 3.18% to settle at 6.913 and Airbus Group (XETRA:AIRG) which gained 1.67% to close at 50.718.
The worst performers were Rheinmetall AG (XETRA:RHMG) which was down 3.23% to 39.370 in late trade, Kloeckner & Co SE NA (XETRA:KCOGn) which lost 2.87% to settle at 9.786 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (XETRA:WCHG) which was down 2.21% to 99.990 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (XETRA:MORG) which rose 2.57% to 75.930, Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which was up 2.45% to settle at 110.800 and Drillisch AG O.N. (XETRA:DRIG) which gained 1.96% to close at 35.625.
The worst performers were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (XETRA:PV) which was down 2.99% to 79.250 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (XETRA:O2Dn) which lost 2.85% to settle at 4.606 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which was down 1.98% to 7.125 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 438 to 291 and 24 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.25% to 19.69.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 1.92% or 23.60 to $1203.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 2.20% or 1.18 to hit $52.49 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 0.61% or 0.38 to trade at $61.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1395, while EUR/GBP rose 0.50% to 0.7427.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 94.25.
