Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Transportation & Logistics and Retail sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.66%, while the MDAX index added 1.06%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 4.23% or 1.28 points to trade at 31.66 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) added 3.21% or 0.43 points to end at 13.81 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 3.05% or 0.38 points to 12.69 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p), which lost 0.64% or 0.50 points to trade at 78.10 in late trade. E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn) declined 0.29% or 0.04 points to end at 11.99 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) shed 0.13% or 0.04 points to 31.63.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 9.13% to 6.91, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 4.66% to settle at 19.09 and Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which gained 3.26% to close at 42.80.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.12% to 5.75 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 0.79% to settle at 13.77 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 0.55% to 14.40 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 4.66% to 19.09, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:COP1n) which was up 4.59% to settle at 15.73 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which gained 4.23% to close at 31.66.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 3.12% to 5.75 in late trade, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which lost 1.39% to settle at 56.70 and PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was down 0.99% to 14.04 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 481 to 137 and 22 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 8.67% to 15.47.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.66% or 16.45 to $2,496.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.79% or 1.38 to hit $78.36 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.84% or 1.47 to trade at $81.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.49% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.33% at 102.72.
