Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Transportation & Logistics and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.35%, while the MDAX index gained 0.42%, and the TecDAX index added 1.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which rose 4.00% or 1.05 points to trade at 27.31 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 3.35% or 1.11 points to end at 34.21 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) was up 3.06% or 0.46 points to 15.47 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which lost 2.20% or 4.60 points to trade at 204.50 in late trade. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) declined 0.45% or 0.24 points to end at 53.34 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) shed 0.24% or 0.20 points to 82.34.
The top performers on the MDAX were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which rose 4.29% to 38.38, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 4.25% to settle at 21.08 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 4.16% to close at 8.89.
The worst performers were Tui AG NA (ETR:TUI1n) which was down 4.16% to 6.27 in late trade, Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which lost 3.03% to settle at 72.10 and Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which was down 2.90% to 2.01 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 8.55% to 66.00, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 4.25% to settle at 21.08 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which gained 4.16% to close at 8.89.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which was down 2.20% to 204.50 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 1.28% to settle at 34.06 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which was down 1.08% to 25.64 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 378 to 228 and 42 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 5.10% to 15.30.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.39% or 9.30 to $2,389.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.56% or 0.44 to hit $78.20 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.44 to trade at $82.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.00% at 104.11.
