Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Retail and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.00%, while the MDAX index gained 1.21%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.98%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG), which rose 7.23% or 4.04 points to trade at 59.92 at the close. Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) added 2.61% or 2.52 points to end at 99.16 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) was up 2.44% or 0.73 points to 30.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN), which lost 6.79% or 1.99 points to trade at 27.25 in late trade. Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) declined 0.60% or 3.00 points to end at 499.40 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) shed 0.33% or 0.40 points to 119.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 4.96% to 13.76, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was up 3.98% to settle at 80.95 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which gained 3.20% to close at 40.30.
The worst performers were Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was down 3.74% to 283.00 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 3.36% to settle at 14.69 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 1.41% to 37.76 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which rose 4.96% to 13.76, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was up 4.60% to settle at 70.50 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which gained 3.05% to close at 29.02.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 3.36% to 14.69 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR:NA9n) which lost 2.98% to settle at 89.65 and Bechtle AG (ETR:BC8G) which was down 1.41% to 37.76 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 417 to 193 and 30 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.77% to 18.24.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.08% or 2.00 to $2,633.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.41% or 0.30 to hit $73.27 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.49 to trade at $76.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 102.59.
