Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.80% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.26%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 16.45% or 37.60 points to trade at 266.20 at the close. Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) added 7.56% or 11.65 points to end at 165.85 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 4.20% or 1.47 points to 36.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn), which lost 1.47% or 0.19 points to trade at 13.08 in late trade. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 1.46% or 0.48 points to end at 32.35 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe) shed 1.25% or 0.45 points to 35.46.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which rose 3.81% to 85.90, Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was up 3.23% to settle at 67.05 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 2.41% to close at 13.19.
The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 6.61% to 23.72 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 2.10% to settle at 8.67 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 1.67% to 100.20 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 16.45% to 266.20, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 3.05% to settle at 5.57 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 2.42% to close at 14.40.
The worst performers were Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which was down 6.61% to 23.72 in late trade, Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which lost 3.10% to settle at 16.54 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 1.67% to 100.20 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 354 to 262 and 38 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.26% to 17.13.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.56% or 15.20 to $2,706.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $70.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $74.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.38% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 103.61.
