Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Retail, Food & Beverages and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.77% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index climbed 0.89%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 2.71% or 0.68 points to trade at 25.75 at the close. Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) added 1.84% or 1.70 points to end at 94.28 and Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) was up 1.83% or 0.55 points to 30.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which lost 0.74% or 0.52 points to trade at 69.82 in late trade. SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) declined 0.47% or 0.92 points to end at 195.62 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) shed 0.33% or 0.14 points to 42.19.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 7.84% to 24.77, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 6.73% to settle at 5.86 and Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which gained 5.15% to close at 40.60.
The worst performers were Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 5.04% to 122.50 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 3.94% to settle at 7.36 and CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was down 3.50% to 84.20 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 6.73% to 5.86, Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was up 3.01% to settle at 58.20 and 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which gained 2.09% to close at 13.70.
The worst performers were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 3.24% to 53.80 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 1.09% to settle at 90.50 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 0.89% to 77.70 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 410 to 191 and 30 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.78% to 14.92.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.03% or 25.85 to $2,542.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.47% or 1.80 to hit $74.81 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.29% or 1.77 to trade at $78.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 100.75.
