Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Media and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.71%, while the MDAX index gained 0.63%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.98%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p), which rose 6.23% or 14.80 points to trade at 252.30 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 3.19% or 0.76 points to end at 24.60 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) was up 2.50% or 1.00 points to 40.96 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which lost 3.04% or 6.70 points to trade at 214.00 in late trade. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) declined 0.87% or 0.44 points to end at 50.10 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) shed 0.80% or 0.23 points to 28.68.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which rose 3.73% to 71.00, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which was up 3.27% to settle at 24.66 and Krones AG O.N. (ETR:KRNG) which gained 2.94% to close at 119.20.
The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which was down 4.36% to 33.98 in late trade, Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which lost 3.13% to settle at 31.25 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 2.48% to 2.90 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) which rose 6.23% to 252.30, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was up 3.73% to settle at 71.00 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which gained 2.80% to close at 27.14.
The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which was down 2.42% to 18.12 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which lost 0.87% to settle at 50.10 and Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which was down 0.73% to 54.70 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 390 to 234 and 29 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 9.99% to 19.42.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 5.20 to $2,529.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.14% or 0.77 to hit $68.44 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.52 to trade at $71.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.35% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 101.51.
