Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Transportation & Logistics and Media sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.58%, while the MDAX index added 0.64%, and the TecDAX index added 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 3.02% or 0.70 points to trade at 23.90 at the close. Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) added 1.71% or 1.16 points to end at 68.92 and Brenntag AG (ETR:BNRGn) was up 1.55% or 0.98 points to 64.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which lost 1.96% or 11.00 points to trade at 551.20 in late trade. Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) declined 0.55% or 0.30 points to end at 54.30 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:HNKG_p) shed 0.33% or 0.26 points to 77.90.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:AT1) which rose 4.21% to 2.13, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was up 3.64% to settle at 3.24 and Lanxess AG (ETR:LXSG) which gained 2.43% to close at 24.45.
The worst performers were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 4.64% to 34.56 in late trade, K+S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which lost 2.40% to settle at 10.98 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 2.02% to 136.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which rose 3.97% to 141.40, 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was up 2.45% to settle at 13.36 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which gained 1.83% to close at 64.05.
The worst performers were PNE Wind AG (ETR:PNEGn) which was down 6.00% to 13.16 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which lost 4.64% to settle at 34.56 and Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 1.89% to 57.20 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 408 to 219 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.93% to 13.98.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.19% or 4.80 to $2,542.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.92% or 1.45 to hit $74.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.90% or 1.51 to trade at $78.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 101.80.
