Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Construction and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.55%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.15%, and the TecDAX index added 1.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn), which rose 3.46% or 0.820 points to trade at 24.505 at the close. Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 3.37% or 3.010 points to end at 92.440 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 2.63% or 0.415 points to 16.175 in late trade.
Biggest losers included RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which lost 1.98% or 0.410 points to trade at 20.245 in late trade. Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) declined 0.75% or 1.40 points to end at 184.70 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) shed 0.16% or 0.30 points to 190.20.
The top performers on the MDAX were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which rose 3.77% to 41.19, Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which was up 3.67% to settle at 41.695 and Steinhoff International Holdings NV (DE:SNHG) which gained 3.65% to close at 3.18.
The worst performers were K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which was down 0.59% to 19.375 in late trade, Talanx AG NA O.N. (DE:TLXGn) which lost 0.49% to settle at 33.680 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which was down 0.43% to 37.465 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which rose 12.58% to 5.353, GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which was up 10.13% to settle at 12.230 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which gained 4.46% to close at 85.240.
The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was down 1.84% to 12.815 in late trade, Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which lost 1.51% to settle at 41.85 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 0.17% to 4.158 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 526 to 218 and 39 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.60% to 14.33.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 3.00 to $1280.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.43% or 0.24 to hit $55.09 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.50 to trade at $61.37 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8926.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 93.78.
