Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Media, Food & Beverages and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.34%, while the MDAX index gained 0.43%, and the TecDAX index added 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG), which rose 2.30% or 0.78 points to trade at 34.64 at the close. Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) added 1.80% or 1.78 points to end at 100.80 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR:MUVGn) was up 1.49% or 7.00 points to 476.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which lost 4.95% or 3.48 points to trade at 66.80 in late trade. Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) declined 3.78% or 1.94 points to end at 49.38 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p) shed 1.63% or 0.66 points to 39.71.
The top performers on the MDAX were Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which rose 3.39% to 50.60, SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR:1SXP) which was up 2.55% to settle at 32.22 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:LHAG) which gained 2.11% to close at 6.87.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 3.72% to 14.49 in late trade, Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which lost 3.37% to settle at 30.10 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR:RDC) which was down 3.09% to 147.30 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 8.62% to 7.06, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:SMHNn) which was up 2.57% to settle at 59.80 and SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which gained 1.93% to close at 16.92.
The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:SHLG) which was down 3.78% to 49.38 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 3.72% to settle at 14.49 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 2.59% to 56.50 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 361 to 286 and 26 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.17% to 17.38.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.20 to $2,754.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 5.66% or 4.06 to hit $67.72 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 5.58% or 4.22 to trade at $71.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 104.14.
