Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Financial Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.31%, while the MDAX index gained 0.50%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n), which rose 2.15% or 0.50 points to trade at 23.75 at the close. Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn) added 1.88% or 3.50 points to end at 189.60 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) was up 1.73% or 0.70 points to 41.11 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG), which lost 2.81% or 4.10 points to trade at 142.05 in late trade. Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) declined 2.62% or 0.77 points to end at 28.63 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) shed 1.98% or 1.10 points to 54.58.
The top performers on the MDAX were Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which rose 3.46% to 49.35, Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was up 3.39% to settle at 32.90 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which gained 3.02% to close at 98.26.
The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 4.16% to 26.52 in late trade, Stabilus (ETR:STM1) which lost 3.24% to settle at 44.75 and Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 2.27% to 96.75 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which rose 5.76% to 62.40, Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was up 1.73% to settle at 41.11 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which gained 1.45% to close at 27.94.
The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 1.92% to 44.04 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which lost 0.97% to settle at 66.40 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was down 0.86% to 7.53 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 347 to 264 and 29 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.95% to 17.83 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.61% or 14.20 to $2,343.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.73% or 0.58 to hit $80.30 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.76% or 0.64 to trade at $84.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 104.88.
