Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Retail and Software sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.02%, while the MDAX index gained 0.28%, and the TecDAX index added 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:DTGGe), which rose 4.45% or 1.67 points to trade at 39.17 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) added 3.65% or 1.35 points to end at 38.35 and Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:HEIG) was up 2.21% or 2.14 points to 99.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG), which lost 3.50% or 17.60 points to trade at 485.80 in late trade. Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) declined 2.00% or 5.00 points to end at 244.60 and Continental AG O.N. (ETR:CONG) shed 1.28% or 0.76 points to 58.70.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 20.09% to 10.70, Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was up 5.01% to settle at 42.54 and Traton SE (ETR:8TRA) which gained 3.66% to close at 31.15.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which was down 3.25% to 58.00 in late trade, Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which lost 2.55% to settle at 82.10 and Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which was down 2.01% to 253.80 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 7.65% to 16.60, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:AFXG) which was up 2.53% to settle at 62.80 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 2.07% to close at 15.05.
The worst performers were Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:EUZG) which was down 3.40% to 42.04 in late trade, Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which lost 3.25% to settle at 58.00 and Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR:ELGG) which was down 2.58% to 60.30 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 332 to 280 and 20 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.62% to 17.52.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.75 to $2,749.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.82% or 1.28 to hit $71.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.80% or 1.34 to trade at $75.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 104.06.
