Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Personal Goods and Software sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 1.16%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which rose 2.86% or 1.05 points to trade at 37.83 at the close. BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) added 2.35% or 1.48 points to end at 64.53 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was up 2.05% or 3.95 points to 196.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which lost 2.02% or 0.77 points to trade at 37.35 in late trade. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 0.76% or 0.56 points to end at 72.84 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) shed 0.64% or 0.07 points to 10.13.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 5.74% to 3.46, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was up 5.02% to settle at 30.35 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which gained 4.74% to close at 1.75.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 3.44% to 1.09 in late trade, Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) which lost 2.02% to settle at 37.35 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 2.01% to 3.12 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 317 to 180 and 104 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 8.95 to $2,390.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.50% or 0.39 to hit $78.25 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.40 to trade at $82.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 104.11.
