Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Leisure Goods sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.03%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which rose 3.27% or 1.94 points to trade at 61.27 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 3.13% or 2.74 points to end at 90.36 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) was up 2.55% or 1.06 points to 42.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which lost 16.15% or 8.52 points to trade at 44.22 in late trade. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 0.60% or 0.60 points to end at 100.10 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) shed 0.45% or 0.17 points to 37.76.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 11.15% to 3.45, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which was up 5.28% to settle at 10.24 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which gained 4.35% to close at 21.10.
The worst performers were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which was down 16.15% to 44.22 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 8.14% to settle at 1.08 and Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was down 3.29% to 3.00 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 305 to 217 and 88 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.45% or 10.40 to $2,341.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.04% or 0.84 to hit $81.57 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.95% or 0.80 to trade at $85.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 105.17.
