Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Household Goods and General Financial sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Basic Materials, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.85%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which rose 3.40% or 1.30 points to trade at 39.56 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 2.95% or 1.06 points to end at 36.97 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.89% or 2.72 points to 96.72 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which lost 1.39% or 1.85 points to trade at 131.05 in late trade. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 0.90% or 0.50 points to end at 55.00 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) shed 0.68% or 0.44 points to 64.02.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which rose 33.52% to 14.20, Elis Services SA (EPA:ELIS) which was up 10.00% to settle at 20.46 and Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which gained 5.80% to close at 73.00.
The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was down 5.30% to 5.40 in late trade, Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which lost 2.37% to settle at 25.58 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which was down 1.39% to 131.05 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 284 to 197 and 99 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.26% or 6.90 to $2,672.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.61% or 1.19 to hit $74.90 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.42% or 1.10 to trade at $78.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.52% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 102.37.
