Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Household Goods and General Financial sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.42%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Safran SA (EPA:SAF), which rose 2.60% or 5.20 points to trade at 205.00 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 2.58% or 3.36 points to end at 133.58 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was up 2.22% or 4.60 points to 212.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which lost 2.06% or 0.64 points to trade at 30.42 in late trade. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 2.00% or 2.50 points to end at 122.55 and Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) shed 1.05% or 2.30 points to 216.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 18.48% to 1.01, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which was up 4.30% to settle at 138.30 and Euronext (EPA:ENX) which gained 2.72% to close at 94.45.
The worst performers were Rexel (EPA:RXL) which was down 6.83% to 23.48 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 3.59% to settle at 10.60 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 2.62% to 1.56 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 255 to 218 and 107 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.30 to $2,430.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.48% or 1.12 to hit $74.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.30% or 1.03 to trade at $78.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 104.39.
