Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Technology, Utilities and Leisure Goods sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.31%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which rose 1.56% or 0.52 points to trade at 33.82 at the close. AXA SA (EPA:AXAF) added 1.43% or 0.46 points to end at 32.60 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 1.42% or 0.94 points to 67.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which lost 1.78% or 4.60 points to trade at 254.55 in late trade. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 1.11% or 0.16 points to end at 14.07 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) shed 0.84% or 3.25 points to 382.75.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which rose 3.34% to 3.09, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was up 2.94% to settle at 26.30 and Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:ADP) which gained 2.92% to close at 112.80.
The worst performers were Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 2.14% to 105.40 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which lost 2.13% to settle at 4.14 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which was down 1.78% to 254.55 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 290 to 179 and 101 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.32% or 7.80 to $2,471.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.59% or 0.45 to hit $76.64 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.43% or 0.34 to trade at $79.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 102.90.
