Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Industrials and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.21%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 3.03% or 3.15 points to trade at 107.05 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 2.98% or 2.90 points to end at 100.10 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) was up 1.83% or 0.34 points to 19.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN), which lost 3.12% or 7.10 points to trade at 220.80 in late trade. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 1.70% or 3.45 points to end at 199.15 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) shed 1.47% or 0.56 points to 37.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which rose 7.19% to 4.89, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was up 5.43% to settle at 1.32 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 4.59% to close at 10.14.
The worst performers were Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) which was down 3.12% to 220.80 in late trade, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which lost 3.03% to settle at 97.75 and Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which was down 2.61% to 33.60 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 298 to 185 and 107 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.04% or 0.90 to $2,460.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.16% or 0.13 to hit $81.57 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.15 to trade at $85.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 103.74.
