Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Real Estate and Media sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.10%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 2.19% or 0.30 points to trade at 13.78 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) added 1.77% or 4.15 points to end at 238.35 and Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) was up 1.72% or 2.88 points to 170.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which lost 5.60% or 1.98 points to trade at 33.36 in late trade. Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) declined 4.46% or 0.65 points to end at 13.82 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) shed 3.66% or 2.37 points to 62.41.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 3.24% to 2.62, Carmila SA (EPA:CARM) which was up 2.64% to settle at 17.86 and Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) which gained 2.35% to close at 108.90.
The worst performers were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which was down 5.60% to 33.36 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which lost 4.85% to settle at 8.40 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) which was down 4.46% to 13.82 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 250 to 232 and 118 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.28% or 7.40 to $2,653.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.32% or 0.94 to hit $70.06 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.81 to trade at $72.88 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.57% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 100.54.
