Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.32%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 1.45% or 0.88 points to trade at 61.52 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 0.90% or 0.84 points to end at 94.00 and Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) was up 0.39% or 0.15 points to 38.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which lost 4.75% or 1.43 points to trade at 28.68 in late trade. Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) declined 4.09% or 0.51 points to end at 11.90 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) shed 3.86% or 0.39 points to 9.79.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which rose 8.61% to 5.70, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was up 2.85% to settle at 10.64 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which gained 1.50% to close at 18.63.
The worst performers were Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 8.03% to 27.50 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 6.68% to settle at 3.52 and La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (EPA:FDJ) which was down 6.36% to 34.44 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 344 to 158 and 99 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.07% or 1.80 to $2,671.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.38% or 3.07 to hit $73.17 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 4.14% or 3.06 to trade at $76.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 0.87% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 101.79.
