Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.93%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 2.71% or 2.60 points to trade at 98.46 at the close. Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) added 1.16% or 0.17 points to end at 14.77 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was up 0.92% or 0.58 points to 63.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which lost 5.16% or 1.10 points to trade at 20.23 in late trade. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 4.55% or 1.31 points to end at 27.37 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) shed 3.15% or 1.97 points to 60.51.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which rose 4.48% to 123.50, La Francaise Des Jeux Sa (EPA:FDJ) which was up 2.77% to settle at 37.80 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which gained 2.71% to close at 98.46.
The worst performers were Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was down 5.92% to 24.14 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which lost 5.16% to settle at 20.23 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 5.02% to 15.50 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 326 to 158 and 95 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.37% or 9.40 to $2,518.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.87% or 2.85 to hit $70.70 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.45% or 3.45 to trade at $74.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 101.75.
