Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Technology, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.32%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which rose 2.24% or 0.32 points to trade at 14.61 at the close. Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) added 1.17% or 0.25 points to end at 21.61 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 1.14% or 1.20 points to 106.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS), which lost 2.69% or 59.00 points to trade at 2,133.00 in late trade. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) declined 1.79% or 12.20 points to end at 669.80 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) shed 1.31% or 1.02 points to 77.02.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) which rose 2.24% to 14.61, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was up 2.09% to settle at 7.82 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which gained 1.81% to close at 180.40.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 3.15% to 0.81 in late trade, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which lost 2.76% to settle at 3.38 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) which was down 2.69% to 2,133.00 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 253 to 212 and 111 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 8.80 to $2,546.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.08% or 1.61 to hit $75.81 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.82% or 1.46 to trade at $78.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 100.65.
