Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.30%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 4.13% or 4.25 points to trade at 107.05 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 2.32% or 0.84 points to end at 37.09 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 1.76% or 0.85 points to 49.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP), which lost 3.10% or 1.12 points to trade at 34.98 in late trade. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 2.74% or 1.26 points to end at 44.69 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) shed 2.29% or 0.43 points to 18.21.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 4.47% to 4.07, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was up 4.13% to settle at 107.05 and Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which gained 3.96% to close at 31.50.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 8.04% to 0.90 in late trade, Sodexo SA (EPA:EXHO) which lost 4.73% to settle at 81.65 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 4.32% to 19.59 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 243 to 241 and 109 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.30% or 7.00 to $2,331.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.35% or 0.29 to hit $83.09 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.08 to trade at $86.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 105.52.
