Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Gas & Water and Industrial Transportation sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.36%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 0.68% or 0.62 points to trade at 91.56 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 0.60% or 0.37 points to end at 61.72 and Credit Agricole SA (EPA:CAGR) was up 0.57% or 0.08 points to 13.21 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which lost 1.85% or 4.70 points to trade at 249.85 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 1.59% or 6.10 points to end at 376.65 and Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) shed 0.79% or 1.30 points to 162.30.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which rose 5.24% to 72.35, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which was up 3.30% to settle at 3.19 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which gained 2.17% to close at 4.23.

The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was down 3.04% to 3.96 in late trade, Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which lost 2.25% to settle at 69.55 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 2.21% to 0.85 at the close.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 237 to 228 and 121 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.21% or 30.00 to $2,503.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.46% or 1.89 to hit $78.73 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.97% or 1.57 to trade at $81.23 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.00.
