Investing.com – France equities were mixed at the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Healthcare Equipment & Services, Gas & Water and Industrial Transportation sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 4.38% or 2.01 points to trade at 47.93 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 2.21% or 0.84 points to end at 38.93 and Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) was up 1.84% or 1.90 points to 105.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which lost 2.33% or 0.92 points to trade at 38.65 in late trade. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) declined 1.21% or 2.80 points to end at 227.75 and Air Liquide SA (EPA:AIRP) shed 1.17% or 1.94 points to 163.46.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 13.26% to 2.24, Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was up 5.06% to settle at 110.00 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which gained 4.38% to close at 47.93.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 4.89% to 0.73 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 4.42% to settle at 2.64 and Ipsen SA (EPA:IPN) which was down 2.71% to 111.20 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 258 to 242 and 98 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.09% or 25.80 to $2,395.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.37% or 0.31 to hit $84.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.18 to trade at $87.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 104.63.
