Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP), which rose 1.39% or 3.50 points to trade at 254.80 at the close. Accor SA (PA:ACCP) added 1.36% or 0.55 points to end at 40.99 and Alcatel Lucent SA (PA:ALUA) was up 1.34% or 0.050 points to 3.784 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Technip (PA:TECF), which lost 3.96% or 1.97 points to trade at 47.79 in late trade. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 2.37% or 0.12 points to end at 4.83 and Credit Agricole SA (PA:CAGR) shed 1.87% or 0.215 points to 11.300.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Edenred (PA:EDEN) which rose 3.98% to 19.20, Elis Services SA (PA:ELIS) which was up 3.53% to settle at 15.25 and Casino Guichard (PA:CASP) which gained 2.60% to close at 56.46.
The worst performers were Technip (PA:TECF) which was down 3.96% to 47.79 in late trade, CGG (PA:GEPH) which lost 3.59% to settle at 3.06 and Aperam (AS:APAM) which was down 3.14% to 32.53 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 378 to 335 and 59 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.59% to 21.81.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.19% or 2.10 to $1075.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.41% or 0.17 to hit $41.89 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.28% or 0.56 to trade at $44.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.84% to 1.0643, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.7008.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 99.69.
