Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the General Retailers, Software and Household Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.07%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Essilor International (PARIS:ESSI), which rose 1.70% or 1.90 points to trade at 113.35 at the close. Vivendi (PARIS:VIV) added 1.13% or 0.26 points to end at 23.18 and BNP Paribas Act. A (PARIS:BNPP) was up 0.96% or 0.54 points to 57.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bouygues (PARIS:BOUY), which lost 2.08% or 0.79 points to trade at 37.22 in late trade. Kering (PARIS:PRTP) declined 2.04% or 3.40 points to end at 163.00 and Cap Gemini (PARIS:CAPP) shed 1.60% or 1.34 points to 82.36.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Soitec (PARIS:SOIT) which rose 14.29% to 0.880, Biomerieux (PARIS:BIOX) which was up 4.09% to settle at 103.75 and Rubis (PARIS:RUBF) which gained 1.96% to close at 63.31.
The worst performers were Sopra Steria Group SA (PARIS:SOPR) which was down 3.10% to 81.40 in late trade, Innate Pharma (PARIS:IPH) which lost 2.67% to settle at 14.920 and Atos SE (PARIS:ATOS) which was down 2.31% to 71.54 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 464 to 435 and 55 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 0.36% to 18.80.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1205.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.65% or 1.00 to hit $59.72 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 1.18 to trade at $65.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.71% to 1.1034, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.7127.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.69% at 96.13.
