Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.17% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Accor SA (EPA:ACCP), which rose 1.92% or 0.83 points to trade at 44.01 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 1.68% or 1.22 points to end at 73.94 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was up 1.30% or 1.26 points to 98.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which lost 7.96% or 19.10 points to trade at 221.00 in late trade. Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) declined 4.13% or 89.00 points to end at 2,068.00 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) shed 3.91% or 0.51 points to 12.53.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which rose 5.47% to 27.36, Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was up 4.27% to settle at 26.85 and Ayvens SA (EPA:AYV) which gained 3.43% to close at 7.24.
The worst performers were JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which was down 12.01% to 14.80 in late trade, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) which lost 7.96% to settle at 221.00 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 7.14% to 7.93 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 299 to 184 and 104 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.44% or 11.90 to $2,693.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.86% or 2.07 to hit $70.29 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.47% or 1.87 to trade at $73.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.93% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 104.99.
