Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.81%, while the SBF 120 index lost 2.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN), which rose 3.50% or 1.19 points to trade at 35.21 at the close. Thales (EPA:TCFP) added 2.53% or 3.60 points to end at 146.15 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was up 1.38% or 0.81 points to 59.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which lost 3.56% or 24.50 points to trade at 664.00 in late trade. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) declined 3.18% or 1.24 points to end at 37.75 and Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) shed 2.86% or 7.35 points to 249.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Nexity (EPA:NEXI) which rose 4.24% to 12.28, Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) which was up 3.50% to settle at 35.21 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) which gained 2.53% to close at 146.15.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 6.74% to 8.41 in late trade, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which lost 4.81% to settle at 3.80 and Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which was down 4.23% to 28.52 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 307 to 190 and 100 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.91% or 24.30 to $2,683.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.95% or 2.69 to hit $70.86 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.64% or 2.61 to trade at $74.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.62% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 101.00.
