Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech, Real Estate and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which rose 1.14% or 0.17 points to trade at 15.14 at the close. Accor SA (EPA:ACCP) added 0.57% or 0.19 points to end at 33.30 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was up 0.57% or 0.30 points to 53.06 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which lost 4.47% or 4.70 points to trade at 100.50 in late trade. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 1.28% or 5.00 points to end at 386.00 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) shed 1.12% or 1.52 points to 134.46.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (EPA:SESFd) which rose 2.30% to 4.54, Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was up 1.44% to settle at 4.23 and Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which gained 1.19% to close at 25.50.
The worst performers were Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 4.52% to 107.70 in late trade, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which lost 4.47% to settle at 100.50 and SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which was down 4.10% to 17.07 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 282 to 183 and 111 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.13% or 27.55 to $2,459.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.84% or 0.63 to hit $75.86 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.35 to trade at $78.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.48% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.06.
