Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.16%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sodexo (PA:EXHO), which rose 2.45% or 2.24 points to trade at 93.74 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.74% or 0.23 points to end at 13.46 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) was up 1.50% or 1.10 points to 74.58 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which lost 3.50% or 14.70 points to trade at 405.40 in late trade. Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) declined 2.45% or 0.68 points to end at 27.09 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) shed 2.18% or 2.35 points to 105.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which rose 10.61% to 21.480, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was up 6.48% to settle at 14.130 and Korian Medica SA (PA:KORI) which gained 6.18% to close at 33.680.
The worst performers were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was down 6.59% to 12.61 in late trade, Faurecia (PA:EPED) which lost 5.70% to settle at 35.09 and Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which was down 3.75% to 9.038 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 329 to 249 and 85 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 4.28% to 17.96 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.21% or 2.65 to $1289.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.21% or 0.11 to hit $52.25 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.11 to trade at $61.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1507, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.9023.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.060.
