Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.08%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which rose 2.54% or 2.48 points to trade at 100.08 at the close. Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 2.18% or 0.92 points to end at 43.10 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was up 1.23% or 0.27 points to 22.23 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF), which lost 3.40% or 3.55 points to trade at 100.75 in late trade. Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP) declined 2.75% or 4.95 points to end at 175.05 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) shed 2.57% or 0.83 points to 31.52.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 14.43% to 1.91, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which was up 6.54% to settle at 5.42 and Viridien SA (EPA:VIRI) which gained 4.64% to close at 35.19.
The worst performers were X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which was down 9.84% to 4.65 in late trade, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which lost 9.45% to settle at 9.42 and Alten SA (EPA:LTEN) which was down 7.34% to 82.00 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 259 to 213 and 104 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.03% or 0.70 to $2,749.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.87% or 1.31 to hit $71.50 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.83% or 1.36 to trade at $75.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 104.06.
