Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Personal Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.52%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which rose 2.97% or 3.60 points to trade at 124.80 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 1.88% or 1.30 points to end at 70.56 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 1.61% or 0.68 points to 43.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which lost 0.87% or 0.90 points to trade at 102.90 in late trade. Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) declined 0.71% or 0.10 points to end at 14.08 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) shed 0.43% or 0.26 points to 60.32.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which rose 3.38% to 27.50, Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which was up 3.12% to settle at 4.89 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which gained 2.97% to close at 124.80.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 4.00% to 3.45 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 3.65% to settle at 8.72 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was down 2.99% to 8.44 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 276 to 186 and 111 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.20% or 5.20 to $2,545.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.07% or 0.78 to hit $72.39 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.79% or 0.61 to trade at $76.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 101.06.
