Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.51%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which rose 2.26% or 1.49 points to trade at 67.31 at the close. Accor SA (PA:ACCP) added 1.83% or 0.86 points to end at 48.13 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.35% or 1.55 points to 116.15 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY), which lost 1.56% or 0.67 points to trade at 42.17 in late trade. Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) declined 1.06% or 0.58 points to end at 54.24 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) shed 0.44% or 0.40 points to 89.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (PA:SESFd) which rose 9.69% to 12.51, Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was up 4.59% to settle at 4.557 and Tarkett (PA:TKTT) which gained 3.74% to close at 29.94.
The worst performers were Technicolor (PA:TCH) which was down 10.20% to 1.823 in late trade, Vicat (PA:VCTP) which lost 2.15% to settle at 65.85 and Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:SOPR) which was down 1.70% to 161.90 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 358 to 247 and 82 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 10.36% to 14.84.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.16% or 2.10 to $1332.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.71% or 0.45 to hit $64.00 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.60% or 0.40 to trade at $67.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.2300, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 89.87.
